'Explosive' AIDS Epidemics Hit Asian Sex Workers

Can somebody PLEASE tell me why this is major breaking news? Let's think about this here... AIDS spredding amongst sex workers and drug users? Ok.. sure this is in Asia... are people in Asia somehow biologically different from people in North America or Africa? DUH... you got sex workers not using protection, and drug users with dirty needles. Of course you have an AIDS problem.
