Traffic this morning was wierd. Normally if I leave my house before 7 there is next to no traffic, today with 1/2 inch of snow on the ground there was traffic everywhere it took me almost an hour to get in to work. What causes this? Did everyone get up expecting to have to shovel and then go in early because they were up? Do people here leave early and drive faster to avoid traffic in the snow? I will have to keep my eye on this weird phenomonon.

I got a haircut last night. I get my hair cut at great clips, where I usually average 80% acceptable or better haircuts. Usually one in five is a real stinker. I got the stinker last night. This contrasts sharply with Toad's perspective. I pay $14 for what is usually a good enough haircut. She will pay exorbinant sums and sticks to a hair stylist like a burr, even if she gets two or three she doesn't like in a row, simply because that one individual knows how to cut her hair. I will admit she does normally get a pretty predicatable haircut, but at one point she was paying $40+ for a haircut. I just don't get it. Maybe because I have a relatively large amount of fast growing hair, so that any haircut that is bad is usually better in a few weeks. Maybe I just don't care enough.

The haircut prior to the one I got last night was fantastic, I was excited to see the woman who had given me the good haircut in the store cutting hair. I got in line. I didn't request a stylist it just really isn't done at Great Clips and the like. I didn't get the woman who spoke little english but gave great haircuts, instead I got a woman who was bitter about cutting hair while going to school to study international business. The haircut was going ok til she started blending on the back of my head, then she took the guard off trimmed up my neck a bit and went back to blending (note she didn't put the guard back on) so all of a sudden I hear the sound of clippers eating LOTS of hair and feel a distinct tug way up higher than I should. Hmm.. her eyes flare wide in the mirror, then she says "You like this blended in up high right?" I said "Sure" giving her the maximum out. well given a pair of scissors and a 1/4" guard I could have given myself this haircut. But it does always grow back. Life goes on. Next time I will have to ask for the person I want, even if it isn't really done. Bleh. On the up side I do have lots of really short hair to play with for a while.
