I suppose I should really go back to blogging. Hmm what's new....Toad's still out of work. I took up knitting just before Christmas, I have knit several pairs of fuzzy feet. Some other socks, and some slippers and hats for the Ships Project. Oh yeah and a felted hat for myself. It's goofy looking but warm as all get out.

I bought another laptop, a thinkpad A21M. I put Debian Woody on it, but upgraded to Sid at the suggestion of a co-worker the very next day. I'm trying to make the switch to linux for all my home computing needs. When I get a bit better at it I might even switch my machine at work. I don't think I'm required to run Windows. That would make me the only windows admin at work that isn't running windows on their desktop.

I'm headed to Ames tonight after work. I should post some of my sock pictures up I suppose. Oh..you wouldn't believe the wacky shit people do with yarn, Opal and Regia (two European yarn companies) make yarn computer striped so that it knits up into patterns like stripes and checks and such. Really really cool stuff. I suppose the only reason I'm into cool socks is the fact that I wear sandals all the time, and therefore people see my socks a lot when it's cold. No socks in hot weather clearly.

I just can't be as bitter and sarcastic as I used to be I'm just too darned happy since I left UNITECH. Actually last week I had a bad day.. I was stomping around and being mean and grumpy, popping Rolaids like there was no tomorrow. Apparently I scared off most my co-workers. The next day somebody said they were glad to see me back to my normal happy old self. I had laugh... who would think I was normally happy and outgoing and worked with me at my UNITECH? Nobody... that was a typical UNITECH day, save the getting punched by Doug bit. Nobody would come near me let alone give me a way too hard but supposedly friendly chuck in the arm.
