because I know you've missed it
More Trap Shooting! Erik and I went out again today. Spring has sprung! Short sleeved shooting has returned. And with it, scores at my average.
Also I noticed that I've been doing something stupid. I noticed it because we had to wait for the slowest five shooters on earth. During this time I was watching clays come out of the houses... and I noticed I was doing something dumb. Staring at the starting spot over the house until I lost sight of the clay and then chasing it down again. Sure enough it's exactly what I was doing when I was shooting. So I tried fixing that.
Anhttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.spell.gifd getting a more consistent forearm grip, since for the first time in months I had no gloves and it was safe to touch metal and not get frozen to it.
Also.. opened up my stance a bit towards the house. I think when I'm too closed to the house my right eye takes over (which is bad since it's not the one over the barrel).
Hmm maybe I should find more variables to change at once. I think I need to work pretty hard on the grip/mount part of things at home and on the looking at the moving object part when I'm at the range.
