Well it's another Thursday morning this means another report of my exciting Wednesday nights.

Started off with trap shooting. We had a really good time. Odie did really well on two stations, and made his average. I hit 21 which is a fair bit over my average. Poor Deanna is shooting with the 12GA and getting beaten up something fierce, because the forestock on my 20GA broke in half again. Ken and Erik did ok too, 16 and 20 if I recall. Tony shot really well with Erik's spare o/u shotgun. Then we went inside for drinks, and they were out of diet coke, so they had to run some in from the cook shack, complete with a hamburger for me. Next week we're totally eating dinner at the cook shack.

Then it was movie night with Heidi. We watched Rip It Off, which we selected based on Sig's review of it in her LJ. It was well exactly as predicted, a heist movie full of angst, and hot girls. Sig is a totally reliable movie reporter.

I just got the most amazing box in the mail. Well the box itself was a pretty ordinary USPS Priority Mail box, the contents however. Ginger Cookies (some lemon filled), and chunks of jeans for that quilt I'll get to someday, The Guns of Navarrone and When Eight Bells Toll, and three mix cds, and a new knife, and other tokens of affection that can ride around in my pocket. I am so totally happy and excited.

I don't know how many of you all who read this now know this, but for years I carried in my pocket a green die, a ball bearing, and a bent quarter. Each given to me by someone. I stopped carrying them after grad school, but for better than 10 years they were never not in my pockets.

We got to shoot again finally. After a few weeks of rainouts and horrible weather. Not that it was great last night, there was a fair bit of wind and the birds were skipping and hopping in the air. I did ok though 18 and 20. So just over my average. At least two of three of the misses were total mental midget mistakes. Also it appears that if I exhale almost completely before I call for the bird then I am way more relaxed and swing more smoothly.

Also, movie night with Heidi. The movie was Happy, Texas. The whole thing was shot in some sort of over saturated fashion, adding a very cartoonish surreal air to it. That said it was a painful romantic comedy. I think it needed a drink or two to be enjoyed to it's fullest.
