the semi-lucid ramblings of a person on the frontier of boredom without anything to do, and without any meaningful direcion. I love my job. Since I started working here I figured I'd spend the next 30 years doing the same thing. My free time is eaten up. I still don't really have much of a life, but I'm busy and it looks like fun.

It's annoying that blogger is cutting off the ftp service. They did give a fairly hefty warning, though, and e-mailing all the users directly.
But...I guess almost everyone that uses blogger uses blogspot? That just seems bizarre to me. I loved using the blogger software, it was really slick, but since the files were on a server that I controlled, the data is mine. I guess other people don't think that way?
This actually doesn't effect me directly. After two years of hemming and hawing and complaining to myself that I needed to upgrade my hosting and e-mail service, over Christmas I finally bit the bullet and got a virtual private machine hosting service, which is where craigsteffen.net is now. Lots of edges to file off, but it's working. I moved to using the "pivot" blogging software.
